Automathical

Now starting Week 3 of the Automotive Math class at the college. They are so eager and bright learners, they make my job easy... Sort of.

Last week we got into a bit of a discussion about class times and suddenly an explosion of male testosterone filled the air! It was horrible. At least no one left.

I just need to remember my roles: Direct, Try not to preach, Avoid giving too many choices.

Lessons learned:
1) Teachers who give too many choices will eventually lose respect from the students.
2) Teachers who don't give enough choices will eventually lose interest from the students.

Display Tactics

Just set up our office with a prominent LCD PowerPoint messaging loop...

It's funny, paying attention to colour schemes and text choice and timing loops and animated arrows.

Nobody will every really read it except my boss. It's all on the internet.

But they will probably glance at it, so it's got to be right. That's cool.

"Welcome to our office -- You have arrived! Hurray!"

BBB: Big Birthday Bash

Why is it called your "Dirty Thirties" anyway? Isn't this nomenclature just another way of pretending that you're young again with a touch of reckless mischievousness and a splash of carefree disengagement?

Maybe it's because 30 in Roman numerals is XXX?

The rhyming scheme is just not that funny when paired with our keyboard layout.

Anyhow, it's scary, whatever is looming my way this Wednesday morning.

So, in the spirit of reducing stress and mayhem, let us recall the presence of dancing hedgehogs to help reduce our worries:

November 19th 2010

Yesterday held an amazingly peaceful and awe-inspiring occasion: I joined in on a sweat lodge ceremony down at Glen Rouge Campground.

No words to describe it, just memories now.

2Smart, not eSmart

Planning to start up a company and actually starting up a new company are quite distinguishable tasks. I thought perhaps September would be an excellent month to start up a new tutoring company, riding the back-to-school wave, yet circumstances keep distracting me from Getting Things Done.

There comes a point at which not GTD (that need to get done) is quite annoying. These are things I wish to do and yet why does Facebook and looking up other projects take higher precedence?? Does my brain not realize the priority scheduling here? Seriously, a blog about it comes before it?!

I spout but it's all only hot air. For now.
