Sacked today. Financial difficulty for the company expected, not based on performance. Still a bit of a blow. Didn't even get to say thank you to my boss -- he was gone before noon too.
On a plus note, I have the rest of the summer to work out, plan for the wedding, and catch up on stuff before going back to school in September.
It really couldn't have happened at a better time.

Poepic
I decided to publish a book by the end of the summer.
I stated this on my Facebook page today, so it must be true.
There isn't an actual publisher who is doing this for me; it's just me doing the design, layout and editting. I'm using Blurb.com to print it up and distribute it.
It's getting a 'poepic' status (coined by me of course) because it's book that crosses poetry with photography. Working title? "Banterlodes" or maybe just "Banter" I haven't decided...

Back to Back
Back to work and drudgery. Back to routine and thoughts of strangling incompetent supervisors. Just not a fan right now, though I have a tan so I can't complain too much, once this cold kicks it.
Some things are just more important than complaining about a job being sucky (as in sucking the life out of you), I do realize that. Surgery, for example, is a biggie. So is having to relearn your hand motor skills.
These are sufficient to distract me back to work. I wish these surgery-goers well.

Bingo Blitz
I've had the opinion lately that I can fool the lottery.
Disregarding my, you know, engineering background, I feel that one day I'm going to find a pattern and choose a set of numbers that are 'bound' to win and then I'll prove everyone wrong.
My theory is based on the fact that it cannot be completely random: the machine was built by humans. Even random number generators are not completely random, as they're based on a random-esque formula.
OK, it might take me 18 years, but I might as well start playing it now.
